On Tuesday, OpenBet announced it had agreed to acquire sportsbook specialist OmniLogic. 

According to OpenBet, the deal is aimed at strengthening the supplier’s presence in regulated lottery markets and expanding its sportsbook capabilities tailored for Tier 1 operators. 

The deal, subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to be finalised later in 2026.

A cross-party of MPs similarly branded gambling advertisement as a “public health issue” in a recent parliamentary debate. The comment came after the publication of the All-Party Parliamentary Group’s May report.

The report cited concerns that current measures inadequately protected children and young people from the marketing tactics of the gambling industry.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has recently appointed a research fellow to study innovations in online gambling advertising, including content creators; however, the Lords caution that this research should not delay necessary policy changes.

The collaboration includes sponsorship rights for significant NFL events such as Super Bowl LXI and the NFL Mexico Game – a regular-season NFL matchup on 22 November 2026 in Mexico City between the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings. 

The deal extends to activations around the 2027 Super Bowl in Los Angeles. The companies have outlined provisions for hospitality programmes, VIP experiences, activations across several Mexican cities and official NFL merchandise opportunities for Codere Online’s customer base.
